Monday, Nov. 26th- 6:30-7:30 pm

Thursday, Nov. 29th- 6:30-7:30pm

The informational meetings will be held in the Little Chute Auditorium.  Please park at the 1402 Freedom Road entrance.  Flex Academy staff will be there to greet you and direct you to the Auditorium.  

*At each meeting families will be given the application to have their name added to the 2019-2020 Lottery List- a requirement for enrollment consideration.

Mrs. Kelly Lamers

K-1st Grade Teacher


Hello! My name is Kelly Lamers, and I am one of the Kindergarten and First Grade band teacher. I am a recent graduate of St. Norbert's with a degree in Early Adolescence/Early Childhood. As a former student of the Little Chute School District, I'm excited to give back and work in the community where I grew up. 

Little Chute is my hometown, born, and raised.  There are four people in my family; my dad Gerald (Scooby), my mom Linda, my sister Katie, and my fiance Adam Lamers- also a Little Chute alumni.  We are a family that love sports and our life revolves around being active.  I am currently a Little Chute Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach as well.

Ms. Van Sambeek

K-1st Grade Teacher


Hi! My name is Shelby Van Sambeek and I am beyond excited to be one of the Flex's Kindergarten and First Grade teachers this year! This is going to be my fifth year teaching and I recently moved back to Wisconsin from Arizona, where I taught at two Charter Schools. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. My goals for students include nurturing their curiosity for learning, providing techniques to help them become successful, and building their self-esteem in our learning environments.

I'm proud to be a new member of the Little Chute Community! As an educator in this district, I will ensure student's learning remains my top priority while modeling the guiding principles at the Flex Academy.

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn McDaniel and I am the second and third-grade teacher here at Flex. I am a recent graduate of UW-La Crosse with a degree in Early Childhood-Middle Childhood Education and am honored to begin my experience in Little Chute. 

I graduated from Kaukauna High School where I ran cross country and track and I continued to compete collegiately in running at UW-L. I have four people in my family including my dad (Sean), mom (Ann), brother (Taylor), and our black lab (Grace). I love spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors running, hiking, biking, etc., crafting, and baking. I am so excited to begin my teaching journey at Flex Academy and look forward to building relationships with students and families. 

Mrs. Jennifer McDermot

4th-5th Grade Teacher

My name is Jennifer McDermot. I have been in Little Chute all, but six months of my educational career.  I have had the opportunity to; teach High School Special Ed, Grade 1, Grade 3, K-5 science, 6th grade Environmental Education, K-5 Gifted and Talented, facilitate PK-12 Curriculum, PK-12 Professional Development, K-12 Literacy Coach, be part of numerous committees and I have always said, "I will give most any job, deemed necessary, a try".  I enjoy change and a challenge.  I have a Masters Degree in K-12 Environmental Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Leadership, I have had many additional professional credits in literacy, numeracy, differentiation strategies, student thinking and student learning styles.

My husband (Mike) and I have two grown, married and wonderful sons and are blessed with two beautiful daughter-in-laws. I have a goofy German Wirehaired Pointer (Mara), four-grand dogs (Packer, Chester, Paul, and Annabelle) and a grand-cat (Albie)


Mr. Kent Swanson

Hello, my name is Kent Swanson and I have been in the Little Chute Area School District since 1996.  I am originally from Osceola, WI and received my undergraduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  I have my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  I have been the Lead Teacher of the Flex Academy for four years.

My wife Molly and I have two children Emma and Elliot.  They both are very busy and active in a variety of sports and music.  I enjoy participating in sports and love being outdoors.  Wakeboarding is one of my favorite activities.  I am a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins and enjoy spending time with my family on vacations and at our cottage.  I am very excited to be teaching at the Flex Academy and enjoy working with my students and families.  Please contact me with any questions.

Mrs. Tara Strasburg

Special Education


My name is Tara Strasburg, and I have been teaching special education in the Little Chute Area School District for 7 years.  This is my third year at the Flex Academy.  Before I joined the staff at the Flex, I taught 5th grade special education at the Intermediate School with the last two of those years co-teaching in a regular education classroom.  I was an in-home Autism therapist for 3 years before becoming a teacher. 

My husband (Jay) and I live in Little Chute with our 4 kids (Tess, Alli, Eva, and Leo), 2 dogs (Roxy and Vader), and 2 fish (Bosh and Effie).  My girls and I all love to dance and read while the boys love motorcycles and guitars.  Our family loves to be outdoors together especially swimming and hiking.
